Aura · Updated September 24, 2026
Aura stores the information you enter on this device to organize your training: routines, sets, history, notes, profile, body measurements, gyms, gym locations, equipment, photos, and preferences. It uses this information to display your workouts and calculate your progress. You do not need an Aura account.
Aura does not send your workout records to a developer server or include advertising or cross-app tracking. The developer cannot access your database through the app. Local storage does not mean every feature works without external services.
Purchases and subscriptions: Apple processes App Store payments. Aura uses RevenueCat to check, validate and restore access, prevent fraudulent purchases and obtain subscription statistics. RevenueCat receives a random identifier generated for this installation, Apple purchase and transaction information, and technical information about the store, app and device, such as the system version, currency and last connection to the service. The SDK may also include Apple's identifier for vendor (IDFV) when iOS provides it and the tracking permission status, without requesting that permission. The developer can view this purchase information in RevenueCat. Aura and RevenueCat do not receive your card number.
Separate data: Aura does not send RevenueCat your name, weight, height, routines, sets, notes or photos. It does not configure custom attributes or advertising identifiers. The purchase identifier persists between app launches and can associate transactions with that installation; this is not a promise of absolute anonymity. The purchase identifier and cache are not included in backups exported by Aura. Restoring purchases recovers valid store access, not your workout records.
Photos and camera: Aura imports only the image you select with the system picker, without requesting general access to your photo library. Camera permission is required only when you choose to take a photo. The image is stored within Aura for the exercise, machine, or band; it is not published. You can remove it from its menu. Aura does not request microphone access.
Location and maps: you can place a gym on the map without allowing location access. If you choose to use your current location, Aura requests permission while you use it. On iOS, maps and address searches use Apple services; Apple processes the requests needed to provide those services. Aura stores your saved gym location locally.
Alerts: Aura requests permission for workout notifications. Timers and Live Activities may show workout information on the lock screen. You can manage notifications, camera, and location from iOS Settings; denying these permissions does not prevent you from logging workouts.
Local backups: completing a workout creates a full copy of confirmed data and your own photos. You can also create one manually. Up to ten normal copies and ten pre-restore copies are kept. Unsaved drafts and timers are not included in the file. In Settings → Local backups, you can select, export, or delete copies with confirmation. Deleting a current record does not remove it from earlier backups.
iCloud: this version does not upload new backups to iCloud because they contain personal health data. Copies uploaded by earlier versions remain in your Apple account and can be recovered from Settings → Earlier iCloud copies. Aura does not delete them automatically. To delete them, manage Aura's iCloud storage in iOS Settings. The developer cannot access those copies.
Device backup: this version asks iOS to exclude Aura's private data directories from system backups. This request does not guarantee they will never appear in a device backup or restore, and does not delete earlier copies. You can review your backups and deletion options in Apple settings. Earlier versions of Aura did not apply this exclusion.
Export: the full file includes your profile, measurements, history, notes, and photos; Aura does not encrypt it. It is shared only when you choose to export it and confirm a destination in the system sheet. The destination may be outside your device and has its own terms. Check who you share it with and avoid storing personal health information in iCloud. Aura cannot delete or control a copy you have already exported.
Retention and deletion: current records remain until you change or delete them using the available controls. You can edit or clear profile fields and delete weight history entries. To remove all local data, delete the app rather than offloading it while keeping its documents. This does not delete exported copies, earlier device backups, or iCloud copies; you must manage those separately. Restoring a copy may bring back data deleted after it was created.
Purchase records and requests: deleting Aura does not cancel an Apple subscription or delete transaction records held by Apple or RevenueCat. You can manage and cancel your subscription in the App Store. To access, correct or request deletion of data processed by the developer, email auragymtracker@gmail.com. Requests are handled according to the relevant data and obligations; they do not automatically delete records that providers must retain to provide the service, resolve disputes or meet legal obligations.
Contact: if you choose to send feedback to auragymtracker@gmail.com, the developer and email provider will receive your address and the content you send to address your question. Your database is not attached automatically. Avoid sending measurements, backups, or other sensitive information that is not needed. The developer will delete conversations and their attachments from the support mailbox 90 days after resolving the request, including from the trash. You can request earlier deletion by writing to the same address. This does not delete copies you keep or guarantee immediate deletion of the email provider's internal copies. Social media links open external services with their own policies.
